About Cosmic Dog Training

What they offer

Cosmic Dog Training works with dogs in Lafayette and the northern Denver area. It runs small-group classes that build skills around real-world distractions, private sessions tailored to problems such as reactivity, manners or other behavior issues, and deep-dive sessions for anxiety, reactivity or fear-based behavior that end with a clear plan. It also works with puppies in their first months.

How they train

The business uses games-based concept training: short training games meant to change how a dog responds to the world, from reactivity and anxiety to everyday manners. The home page says positive reinforcement is at the center of everything.

About the trainer

The about page says the founder, Kathleen Valentine, found games-based training while helping her rescue dog Koda through severe separation anxiety. It says she trained in the UK under the founders of Absolute Dogs and continues to study canine behavior.
