About Crossroads School of Dog Training

What they offer

Crossroads School of Dog Training in Quincy is run by trainer Cara, who has used the Pace Method of dog training since 1998, has taught professionally since 2003, and is certified by its founder, master trainer Ron Pace. The site says she is often referred dogs with behavior problems by local veterinary clinics and the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society, and she works with puppies through seniors.

Classes

Puppy Preschool uses positive, reward-based training to teach basic commands, uses play with other puppies for socialization, and covers how to stop common puppy behaviors. The Adult Dog Obedience course takes a no-nonsense, balanced approach without relying on treats: owners learn to guide the dog with the leash and collar and teach heel, sit, stay, come, down, stay back and don't touch with verbal and hand signals, along with how to give a fair correction to stop unwanted behavior. Owners start by scheduling a consultation to discuss the dog's history and goals, and graduates get lifetime support.
