Private training in Waterford

For Love of Dogs is run by a trainer known as PK from 26212 Washington Avenue in Waterford, about 10 miles west of Racine. All classes are private: just you, your dogs and the adults who care for them. Training is built around a communication system the site calls SATZ, which uses signals and cues so dog and owner can understand each other.

Classes and boarding school

Puppy and adult-dog classes are sold as a commitment of 8 two-hour sessions, two per week, with times between 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The two-week Boarding School has the dog live in PK's home pack and work on recall, door and stair manners, greeting without jumping, leash walking and self-control. Owners attend classes during the stay, and PK helps with the transition home.

Camps and special needs

Weekend Camps are intensive private sessions for reactivity and other serious problems. Special needs classes teach deaf dogs with sign language and blind dogs with directional cues.

Consultations

Phone consultations, private evaluations, in-home sessions and virtual coaching are also offered.
