About Gary Abelovs Dog Nation
What they do
This is one of the few practices in the metro that presents itself as behavioral consultation rather than dog training. The site's own framing – get rid of the problem, not the dog – and its service structure are built around behavioral consultations for any dog, breed or age, with published solutions for house-training, aggression and digging among others.
Who runs it
Gary Abelov is named as owner and operator, working with people and their dogs who need behavioral help. His own about page records that he has rehabilitated thousands of behaviorally challenged dogs since 1984, that he traveled across North and Central America with his dogs while at college in the early seventies, and that in 2004 he was one of the first trainers in Missouri to test for and receive the CPDT designation through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
A note on credentials
The site also displays IAABC-certified, Animal Behavior Society and AABP member marks and describes him as a CDBC dog behavior specialist. None of these could be matched in the Missouri certification files held for this build, so all of them are recorded as the business's own claims rather than as confirmed certifications – a lapsed or unlisted credential is not a registry match.
Other
The site publishes a book written by him and a philosophy and methods section.
