About Good Woofer K9

Balanced training from Ocala

Good Woofer K9 is a family dog training business based in Ocala and serving Central Florida, run by a husband and wife team. They started it after struggling with their own dogs, and after years of research and help from professional trainers they call mentors, they now share what they learned.

Method

The team uses balanced training, which it describes as combining positive reinforcement with structured discipline, with an emphasis on the relationship between dog and owner and on confidence-building techniques.

Board and train

In the board and train program, a dog stays with one of the trainers at their home to learn essential commands, improve behavior and gain social skills in a structured setting.

Problems addressed

Common issues include separation anxiety, leash pulling, excessive barking, aggression toward people, leash, dog and people reactivity, food and toy aggression, resource guarding, fearful reactivity, shy dogs and dogs that chase livestock or cats.
