Holistic behavior and training

Hippie Dog is a dog behavior and training business in Richfield, serving Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington and the Twin Cities metro. It uses reward-based training with positive reinforcement under the LIMA principle (least intrusive, minimally aversive), and a holistic approach that considers the dog's body, mind and soul.

The founder

Inga From, CDBC, CPDT-KSA, founded Hippie Dog in 2014. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the IAABC and holds CCPDT's Professional Dog Trainer accreditation, and she specializes in trauma-induced behaviors in shelter and rescue dogs. Her background includes more than twenty years in animal behavior, a Premier Shelter Staff Award from the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, mentorship from John Rogerson, and a former term chairing the APDT board.

Services

Group classes are small and open-enrollment, including outdoor drop-in Basic Manners for puppies and adult dogs from 8 weeks, covering recall, anti-jumping, impulse control, loose-leash walking, leave it and greetings. Private behavior help and training run in person or online for aggression, leash reactivity, separation anxiety and puppy basics. There are also service and therapy dog training, behavior consulting for adoptions and shelters, and a 3- or 6-month trainer mentorship program.
