Hold'n On Dog Training is a licensed and insured dog training business in Belleview run by owner and trainer Ashley Holder. Its mission is to help families understand their dogs and keep family dogs out of shelters by addressing misunderstood behaviors.

Approach

The approach is to train a balanced, calm state of mind in both dogs and owners. Ashley takes a no-nonsense approach to basic obedience, teaching dogs that their humans make the decisions, so that the dog relies on the owner as a leader and stays calm when facing everyday obstacles. Common problems include leash pulling, jumping on people, uncontrolled barking, poor recall, destructiveness, separation anxiety and missing basic commands. Many of her dogs are high-energy dogs that struggle to focus or settle.

About Ashley

Ashley turned to dogs after her children grew up, went back to school to study Canine Behavior Sciences and built a simple program from techniques she researched.

Options are private lessons and board and train programs, with military and senior citizen discounts.
