About Just Happy Dogs LLC

Just Happy Dogs is a Peekskill business run by Richard and Karen out of their own home. The published mission is a best-in-class, Fear Free certified, cage-free environment – the site repeats 'no crates, no cages, no kennels, ever' – for dogs in the Peekskill area and surrounding towns.

Dog School

Training is published as its own service under the name Dog School. The site's answer to whether they train is direct: yes, and only with positive methods, in their own home or in the client's. Beyond that the published description is brief, so ask how a program is structured when you call.

Who is behind it

Karen is Fear Free and CBATI certified. She has volunteered with the Westchester SPCA and with the Port Chester Obedience Training Club, the oldest club of its kind in the country, where she took classes in agility and scent work; she is currently involved in tracking and has taken courses in Tellington Touch. Those are her own studies rather than services on offer.

The rest of the services

Boarding, daycare, dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting and pet transportation are all published alongside training, and daycare is described as being for pack-friendly, well-behaved dogs.
