About Kevlar K9 Academy Dog Training

What they offer

Kevlar K9 Academy is a veteran-owned dog training business with two locations, one at 7840 S Western Ave, Suite 8, in Oklahoma City and one in San Antonio. Its programs are board and train, in which your dog stays for daily one-on-one training, and private lessons in 4- or 8-week packages where you and your dog learn together. It also offers boarding, whether or not you train with it.

How they train

The site describes positive, relationship-first training and says it builds bonds through positive reinforcement rather than fear. It works with puppies through adult dogs on jumping, biting and nipping, leash pulling, resource guarding, difficult behavior and manners.

Good to know

Every client starts with a free consultation to pick a program. For reactive or difficult dogs, the site says it assesses each dog at the consultation and will say honestly if it is not the right fit. The site says both locations run the same programs.
