About Kingwood Pet Resort
Kingwood's long-running pet resort
Kingwood Pet Resort is a boutique boarding resort run by the Colmenares family, who say they established it in 1979 as the first pet care facility in Kingwood. Founder Carl Colmenares is credited with 45+ years of caring for Kingwood's pets. What began as Kingwood Kennels with 10 kennels now has 30 indoor and outdoor runs, 10 luxury suites and five acres of fenced woodland for play.
Training
The resort's training programs aim to build confidence, reinforce positive behaviors and strengthen the bond between owner and pet, with sessions led by experienced trainers in a supportive, structured environment.
Boarding and grooming
Every standard kennel is indoor/outdoor with privacy walls, and VIP suites are 8-by-8 rooms with private 8-by-10 outdoor runs through a climate-controlled door. Owners get 24-hour webcam access. Grooming covers baths, nail trims and breed-specific styling.
What owners say
One client called it a "wonderful family owned business" offering "boarding, grooming, & training."
What to ask
Ask which training formats the resort offers (lessons or training during a stay), who the trainers are, how long programs last and what they cost. The site gives two addresses, 619 Lakeville Dr and 25222 Loop 494, so confirm where training takes place.
