About Lawrenceville Kennel Club
Classes
Lawrenceville Kennel Club runs a laddered class program from its own building in Lawrenceville: Star Puppy, Basic Manners/CGC, Intermediate Manners, Advanced Manners, Rally, Competition Obedience, Scent Work and Conformation. Classes are organized into four scheduled sessions across the year. The About page says obedience classes are open to all dogs, and that the AKC Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy tests are offered as part of the classes.
What kind of organization this is
It is a not-for-profit club rather than a commercial school. Its own pages describe it as dedicated to the promotion of purebred dogs and the well-being of all canine citizens, say it was founded in 1979, and state that it is a member of the American Kennel Club – a claim we record and do not verify. Membership is open to individuals and families, with sponsors and meeting attendance required, but the training classes do not depend on joining.
Also
The club holds an AKC licensed all-breed conformation show and obedience trial each year at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, and its members run community programs including a Gwinnett County jail dog program and AKC dog and child safety classes.
