Loyalty Service Dogs is a family-owned business in Mesquite that trains service dogs and places them with clients across the country. Its programs cover autism service dogs, diabetic alert dogs, seizure service dogs, PTSD service dogs and dual-trained dogs, each matched to the client's needs, lifestyle and activity level.
How it works
Clients start with an online prescreening application, then an approval process and an admittance packet. The site describes a dog-matching process of several weeks that considers the dog's temperament, scent testing and trainability, and an overall program time frame of about 12 to 18 months. Visits to the Mesquite office are by appointment.
About the trainer
The founder, Maritza Trujillo, says she began training service dogs at 19 after studying at the National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio, and worked for two other service dog organizations before starting her own program.
