Magnolia Paws Board & Train is a Slidell dog care and training center at 517 J.F. Smith Avenue, kept small on purpose so each dog gets personal attention. Founder Sarah Elsensohn is described as a certified dog trainer with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University and over 10 years of hands-on dog care and training.

Training programs and prices

Training follows a balanced approach with individual progress tracking. The 3-week board and train is $2,150 and the 4-week program is $2,880, and flexible week-to-week and daily training are also offered. Private training is $65 an hour or $35 for half an hour. Training options include puppy training, obedience and one-on-one behavior training.

Other services

Daycare is $32 for a full day, and boarding starts at $35 a night. Grooming, baths and a members-only dog park with separate large and small dog sections and self-serve washing stations are also available, with $10 day passes. Hours are 7am to 7pm on weekdays and 8am to 12pm on weekends.
