About Mattox Dog Training Academy

What they offer

Mattox Dog Training Academy trains dogs on its farm in Eltopia and serves the Tri-Cities and southeastern Washington. Its core service is board and train, which combines professional obedience training with structured boarding for consistency and repetition, then teaches the owner to keep the skills going at home. Every graduate gets lifetime support, follow-up training and refresher opportunities, and the academy boards only dogs that have completed its programs.

Specialized training

The site says its certified trainers build tailored programs for service, therapy and facility dogs, and the academy works with a nonprofit that places service dogs with veterans and first responders, as well as with a local rescue whose dogs it rehabilitates and trains. Optional care plans add priority access, refresher lessons and an annual in-home consultation for life changes such as a new baby or a new dog.

How they train

The academy believes dogs thrive when treated like dogs, with a clear pack order and clear expectations, and its programs run from puppy training to advanced behavior correction.
