About Mountains Fury Kennel

Mountains Fury Kennel sits at 7205 US Route 11 in Tully, on the hill road north of Cortland. Its own page title is "GSP Breeder | Gun Dog Trainer," and both halves are accurate: it is primarily a German Shorthaired Pointer breeding program, and it also trains dogs for other people.

What it is

The site tells the story in its own words. Jeff Bordwell began breeding German Shorthaired Pointers over twenty years ago, a bird hunter wanting to breed healthy dogs for hunting families. In 2011 he was introduced to the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, and after watching a NAVHDA dog work he decided he wanted his own dogs to work the same way. His daughter Katie, thirteen at the time, insisted on being part of raising the shorthairs and rode along to training days; she assists with training now and runs the kennel's media.

Training

The sentence that matters for anyone looking for a trainer rather than a puppy is this one: "Jeff now trains on a daily basis and is taking in client dogs." The kennel carries a Training section in its own navigation. This is gun-dog and versatile hunting-dog work – field work, pointing and retrieving in the NAVHDA mold.

Record

The kennel states that it has produced five NAVHDA Versatile Champions, one AKC Master Hunter, and a number of NAVHDA Utility and Natural Ability prizes. Individual dogs are listed by name across the dams and studs pages with their titles. These are the kennel's own published claims about its own dogs.

Practical

Contact runs through the address, email and phone number on the contact block, and a mailing list is offered for news of upcoming litters.
