When I moved into the area in 2020 I was looking for a new kennel for when I needed to travel without my dog. One place I called went on and on and sounded wonderful until I said she was a pit mix. Very quickly the attitude changed. I was worried she I couldn't find a place that would love her like we do. But then I found Julie at Oakwood Kennels. She takes the best care of her and I know she is so loved there.
For example, I went out West this June and was in very little cell service. One day, when I found a place to get my messages, I heard that my dog (13 years old) was very sick. When Julie couldn't get ahold of me she arranged a vet call and got medicine for her. She also recommended a dog food that has changed my dogs quality of life for the better. The only thing extra she charged me for was the medicine (or the new food?) I can't remember. She was a saint. Julie knew that I was devasted and in a helpless situation, she assured me she was going to take care of her and not to worry. I owe her so much for that!
I know that when I leave my best friend with her, that she is in the best hands!

I brought our new canine companion to Julie at Oakwood Kennels 5 years ago. Our Labradoodle named Honey was 2 1/2 years old when we purchased her from a breeder in Northwest Ohio. She had not been socialized and had lived in a kennel her first 2 1/2 years of life. I enrolled Honey in an obedience class with Julie and that was just the beginning of a very warm and caring relationship between Honey and Julie. We board Honey there whenever we are out of town and Julie also does her grooming and monthly bath. We are very happy with her care and appreciate knowing that we are leaving our girl in good hands when we are out of town

We have boarded our Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog mix at Oakwood Kennel for years with confidence. Aside from that expert care, Oakwood has provided wonderful and much-needed grooming for our dog with her long, thick hair. The owner and her caring team have always been friendly and professional, and the care and treatment they have provided for our dog has always been nothing short of exemplary excellence. Oakwood has been grooming my two Golden Retrievers for 6 years. They do an excellent job and know how to deal with a large amount of fluff and curls. They always come home looking beautiful and happy. I also board them there when we go out of town and that too has been a good experience.
