About Paws With Love

What they offer

Paws With Love Therapy Dogs is a Lawton group that provides therapy dogs, training, evaluation, registration and volunteering. Its training classes page lists a Puppy Class, a Beginner 1 Obedience Class and an Intermediate Obedience class, each six weeks long with evening start times, and says the AKC Canine Good Citizen test is offered at the end of classes. It also offers free therapy dog testing and observations through Alliance of Therapy Dogs.

Where and how

Classes are held at Lawton Farmers' Market, 77 SW 4th Street, and registration runs through an Eventbrite link on the home page. The group asks for proof of up-to-date rabies, distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccines, and puppies need at least two distemper/parvo shots and one Bordetella vaccine.

Therapy dogs

Members visit hospitals, nursing homes and schools with their dogs, and the group runs a reading program in local elementary schools and the library. The home page says it has certified Canine Good Citizen evaluators and therapy dog testers. Check the current class dates on its site before you register.
