About Pensacola Dog Fanciers Association

AKC member club since 1936

Pensacola Dog Fanciers Association is a nonprofit dog club in Pensacola that was established and became an AKC member club in 1936. It is dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs and promotes responsible ownership, health and training. The club has worked with Five Flags Dog Training Club on local legislation and shelter causes, and has donated supplies to the Escambia Animal Shelter and pet oxygen masks to Escambia County fire stations.

Training classes

PDFA sponsors training in show handling, puppy socialization, basic obedience and rally, plus seminars on health, behavior and breed issues and therapy dog and reading programs. Classes are mostly for members and are led by Training Director Patty Reuschle; recent offerings include Beginner Basics, Canine Good Citizen preparation, a Tricks class with Trick Dog testing, and beginning and advanced rally, with beginning rally at $60 for 6 classes. A conformation class taught by Sue McClure is open to non-members at $10 per class. The club also supports obedience, rally, barn hunt, lure coursing and earthdog events.
