About PosiPup

PosiPup is Dana Motyka's practice, and her own about section gives the base plainly: "I am based in east Asheville and serve the Western North Carolina region." The business is built around puppies and adolescents – the site's own strapline is "Positive reinforcement training for puppies and adolescent dogs, along with private lessons for adult dogs."

The published tracks

The site's navigation is its service list: Prep For Your Pup, Puppy Preschool, Basic Manners & Behavior Problems, Behavior Modification, and Additional Services. Prep For Your Pup is the pre-arrival track – work done before the puppy comes home – and Puppy Preschool is the early-weeks class.

Who it is for

The stated range is wider than the name suggests: a puppy learning basics, an adolescent "navigating the tricky teenage phase", a senior dog who would benefit from gentle enrichment, or a shy rescue of any age. The stated aim is happy, healthy bonds between pet and owner through positive reinforcement.

Background, as stated

Dana describes herself as a VSA-Certified Dog Trainer, says she started as a Puppy Start Right Preschool Instructor and went on to graduate from the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior. She also volunteers at Animal Haven of Asheville and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

Who it’s best for
