Balanced training in Austin

Pup Academy ATX is an Austin dog trainer offering what it calls unlimited balanced dog training, focused on each dog's individual needs, owner education and clear communication. Trainer Jo keeps board-and-train dogs in her home, and takes them on regular outings to pet-friendly stores, hikes, downtown and parks. Every client starts with a consultation or meet and greet, and all breeds and intact dogs are accepted.

Programs

Board and train options include a 2-week basic obedience and public access course, a 3-week cross-over program, a 3-week Conquer Reactivity bootcamp, a service dog program, Puppy Intro to Obedience and Fit to Fly, a specialty program for dogs flying on airplanes. Owners receive daily updates, and on homecoming day Jo spends a few hours coaching them. A 6-week once-a-week private course covers basic commands, desensitizing and daily-life coaching, and Saturday group sessions meet in a public place. Each package includes equipment, and off-leash training and daycare are offered too.
