About Quincy Kennel Club

AKC club in Quincy

Founded in 1960 in Quincy and licensed by the American Kennel Club, the Quincy Kennel Club holds its classes at 3909 Commercial Drive. The STAR Puppy Class takes puppies from 10 weeks and teaches walking on lead, sit, lie down, stay and coming when called.

Obedience, agility and conformation

Beginning Obedience covers loose-lead walking, coming when called, heeling with automatic sits, standing for examination, and sit-stay and down-stay. Intermediate Obedience prepares dogs for AKC novice obedience and rally, while Advanced Obedience practices off-lead heeling, jumping and retrieving. Agility and conformation classes round out the program.

Sessions and fees

Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings in roughly 30-minute slots. A first eight-week session is $80 and later ones are $50; enrolling takes the online training application and immunization records. Email qkc@quincykennelclub.com.
