About Red Dog Canine Services
Dog-relating in Austin
Red Dog Canine Services is a private dog training and adventure service serving Austin and surrounding communities. It calls its approach dog-relating rather than training: instead of teaching dogs human language, owners learn to communicate with their dog the way dogs naturally raise and relate to their young. The trainer began by fostering and volunteering with a rescue, worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility, and received further training and ongoing mentorship from Max Bitterman, founder of Your Dog's Best Friend, whose Dogcentric approach underpins the work.
Training and adventures
Private training helps with puppy foundations, manners such as jumping and barking, leash pulling, reactive or aggressive dogs, shy or fearful dogs and socialization. Training is pay as you go, with no session minimum and a free initial phone consultation. Adventures take dogs on trail outings working on loose leash walking, impulse control and socialization, with a pet taxi, and 30-minute structured neighborhood walks require a leash-walking lesson first. The team is Pet CPR and First Aid certified, and baths and nail services are offered too.
What owners say
One client wrote that working with Ian "made the biggest difference by far" after other trainers.
