About Rowens Kennels
Training Center classes
Rowens Kennels, just east of Brighton, runs a Training Center that its training page says opened in December 1986 to offer classes by experienced trainers and a place for the obedience community to train. Classes include Puppy Manners and Socialization for puppies 3 to 4-1/2 months old, Obedience at all levels for dogs six months and older, and Agility. For special problems it offers behavioral counseling, with a program recommended for owner-controlled behavior modification. Dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations to attend.
The kennel
The home page describes a 68-acre property of lake, woods and fields offering professional pet care since 1972, with boarding and grooming alongside training. The about page says the family business is owned and operated by Melissa Sykes, who also heads up the grooming services. The training building can be rented for training or other dog-related events.
