About Star Canine Community Training Center, LLC

Star Canine Community Training Center is a dedicated training facility at 6 Adler Drive in East Syracuse. It is a class-and-sport center rather than a daycare with a class attached: there is no boarding, no grooming and no daycare on the site, only a calendar of courses and a registration system for new and returning students.

Classes

The published class list is agility, conformation, flyball, obedience, rally, scent work and tricks. Star Canine also runs AKC STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, CGCA and CGCU, therapy dog preparation, and continuation classes for handlers who want to keep going after a course ends.

What it costs

The center publishes its rates outright, which is uncommon locally. As of the August 2026 rate change, AKC STAR Puppy, CGC, Therapy Dog and Beginner Scent run $150 for six weeks paid by cash or check and $153 by Venmo. Obedience, Rally, Therapy Dog, Flyball, CGCA and CGCU and all continuation classes are $135 for six weeks, $138 by Venmo. Agility is $135 for four weeks, and Conformation is charged weekly at $20.

Workshops

On top of the regular schedule the center brings in outside instructors for weekend workshops. The one currently advertised is three obedience and rally workshops with Laura Romanik across October 3rd and 4th, covering engagement and heeling, Open-level exercises and ring readiness, with both working and auditing spots and optional private lessons the day before.

Approach

The center describes its methods as positive reinforcement and its mission in community terms: training programs plus events and workshops meant to connect local dog owners to each other, not only to a trainer.
