About The Educated Dog

Behavior training in McKinney

The Educated Dog is a McKinney-based dog trainer and behavior consultant serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area, owned by Aaron Stewart. He says he started his career in 1990 with Interquest Detection Canines working with scent detection dogs, and lists certifications through NNDDA, DB National K-9 and Interquest Detection Canines. He has also been featured as a "Dog Whisperer" on Home & Lifestyle TV.

Approach

Stewart describes himself as "not your typical heel, sit, stay trainer" and concentrates on solving behavior problems such as leash pulling, constant barking, jumping on people, running out the door and chewing. He says common problems can be solved in as little as one session. His philosophy draws on canine psychology and pack mentality, using a dog's natural way of learning with positive reinforcement and discipline rather than punishment, and teaching owners how to keep the dog trained for life.

Consulting

He also offers consulting on choosing the right breed and dog, and preparing for a new puppy.

What owners say

One Dallas client wrote: "Scout is now a completely different dog, and EVERYBODY has noticed!"
