What they offer

The Houndsman Canine Academy helps owners instill manners in a new puppy, control an aggressive or anxious dog, or improve everyday behavior. All training starts with a private consultation of about an hour and a half at the training facility on Main Street in Ferndale, followed by a customized training plan for the owner and dog.

About the trainer

Adam Wisniowski describes himself as a certified canine obedience behavioral specialist with over 20 years of experience. He learned to handle sporting, working, service and police dogs in his youth and worked with protection dogs as a US Marine Corps veteran.

How he trains

He believes a dog needs leadership, boundaries and communication, and aims to give owners a shared language with their dog.
