About The Loyal Hound
Board and train for behavior change
The Loyal Hound is a board and train program based in Kingston that focuses on behavior change, off-leash obedience and aggressive dogs. Owner and head trainer Jay Haley is credited with two decades of experience working with all breeds and temperaments, and says he tailors the training method to each dog based on breed, temperament and demeanor. Shannon Haley, a Certified Veterinary Technician, runs the business side and helps with the care of dogs in training.
Programs and pricing
The puppy board and train program, for dogs 12 weeks to 6 months, is $1150/week and covers sit, down, loose leash walking, recall on a long line, crate training and basic manners. The 2-week program, $2500, is for friendly dogs that need on-leash obedience. The 3-week program, $4000, handles more serious behavior problems or advanced off-leash obedience, including reactivity and aggression, place, recall in high distraction, separation anxiety and compulsive barking. The Loyal Hound specializes in low-level remote collar training, and every program includes training equipment and free-for-life private follow-up lessons. Boarding is available to clients who have completed a program.
