Walks with training built in, in Austin
This Lil Dog of Mine is an Austin dog walking and pet sitting company established in 2013, based at 1822 W. Braker Lane, and it also serves parts of Houston. Owner Mark holds a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Science in Applied Ethology, focused on animal behavior and well-being, from Texas A&M University. The team is insured and bonded and holds Pet CPR and First Aid certification.
Walk & Train
The training piece is the Walk & Train membership, which pairs regular exercise with positive reinforcement. Each visit combines a neighborhood walk and potty breaks with practice on leash manners and cues such as sit, heel, leave it, come and down, plus calm habits at doors and street crossings. Visits are adjusted for puppies, adult dogs and seniors, and owners get photos, care notes and GPS walk tracking through Time To Pet. The recurring membership needs at least two walks per week. The company describes Walk & Train as skills practice, with progress that depends on consistent practice.
Other care
In-home pet sitting, overnight care from 6 PM to 8 AM and a pet taxi are also offered, starting with a free meet and greet.
