About Vom Aariz – German Shepherd Kennel and Training Center

Vom Aariz calls itself a German Shepherd Kennel and Training Center, and both halves of that are real. It is a West German showline breeding kennel at 1161 US-209 in Cuddebackville, and it is also one of only three businesses in this metro that sells a residential training program to the public.

The training side

The training offer is stated broadly: "professional training for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and issues. From basic obedience to more specialized areas such as sport/show and behavior modification." Board and Train has its own section in the site's navigation and is the program the business puts its name behind – "the best possible training experience and results in our Board & Train program." The pitch is explicitly not breed-restricted, and the site adds that no dog is considered too old or too difficult, which is a claim worth testing in conversation rather than taking as a guarantee. There is also a Vom Aariz Dog Training Club listed on the site.

The kennel side

The breeding program is West German showline German Shepherds bred to the SV standard, health tested and show rated, with working titles in the pedigree; puppies are raised in the home. The site's own argument for the combination is that breeding and training belong together, quoting Helmut Raiser: "Those who breed and not train are like the blind who try to describe colors." Puppies, young adult dogs and dogs for adoption are all sold or placed through the same site, alongside an adoption application and a puppy questionnaire.

Kennel and training together

It is fair to say the site's center of gravity is the kennel: the pedigree pages are longer and more detailed than the training pages, so ask for training prices directly. What separates this business from the other breed kennels in western Orange County – and there are several, including a Pine Bush shepherd kennel and a Middletown Cane Corso breeder – is that those sell dogs and offer training only as an add-on to a puppy purchase, while Vom Aariz publishes training as its own product line open to any owner.

Practicalities

Hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Contact is +1 347 257 8057 or info@vomaariz.com. The business is rated 5.0 from 6 Google reviews. If you are considering the board and train, the questions to ask are the same ones you would ask any residential program: how many dogs are in at once, what the daily schedule is, how the training is handed back to you at the end, and what happens in the weeks after the dog comes home.
