About Wichita Dog Training Club Inc
What they offer
Wichita Dog Training Club is a not-for-profit club at 6201 N Seneca St in Wichita, operating since 1949. Its classes are open to the public, for purebred and mixed-breed dogs alike, and the club says it trains people to train their dogs, for fun or for competition.
Obedience classes
The class descriptions page lists Puppy Class (10 weeks to 5 months, six weeks long, focused on socialization and problem prevention), Basic Obedience (six weeks, covering polite leash walking, sit, down, stay, leave it and come when called, with an evaluation on the last night), Rally Obedience, and AKC Canine Good Citizen preparation that also readies teams for therapy dog evaluations.
Agility
The club runs an agility program from Foundations classes upward in a 9,000 square foot building with AKC regulation equipment, and it hosts agility, obedience and rally events through the year.
Good to know
The classes page says instructors use positive reinforcement and are club members, many with titles in agility, obedience and rally. Classes need a minimum number of students, enrollment closes one week before a session starts, and handlers must be at least 12 years old. Call the club to ask about upcoming sessions.
