About Wicked Waterfowl Retrievers

What they offer

Wicked Waterfowl Retrievers is a licensed boarding and training kennel in Vassalboro, established in 2021, that specializes in gun dog and hunt test training for retriever breeds. It is small by design so each dog gets a significant amount of time.

Programs

The puppy program teaches crate training and informal obedience and builds drive with short retrieves and an introduction to birds. Basic obedience is a six-week program covering sit, here, heel and kennel or place, with an introduction to the e-collar when the dog is ready, and owners are taught how to keep the commands at home. Basic gun dog training runs about six months and covers formal obedience, collar conditioning, conditioned retrieves, marking on land and water, steadiness, gunshot conditioning, birds, blinds, boats and decoys. Advanced gun dog training adds blind retrieves, doubles and triples and technical marking over ten to twelve months, followed by a master or finished level.
