About Wild Apple Kennel

Grouse dog kennel in Dummer

Wild Apple Kennel in Dummer calls itself the home of the 2007 Grand National Champion Wild Apple Jack. It raises pointers that are "highly competitive in grouse trials", and its dogs are described as winning field trials and hunting wild birds for their owners around the country. The kennel's author also wrote a book titled Building a Grouse Dog.

Training and dogs

The kennel trains grouse dogs and runs a summer training program, with work on wild grouse and woodcock in the woods alongside yardwork, checkcord work and bird-field sessions for young dogs. Puppies and started dogs are offered, with availability posted on the site.

Guide service

Wild Apple Kennel also runs a guide service for bird hunting, and notes some dates still available for October 2025.
