About Darn Good Dogs Chicago Inc

Private in-home training, sold as structured packages

Darn Good Dogs Chicago offers "private in-home training for a happier home, stress-free walks, and family fun any place you go with your dog." The site describes its trainers as "POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT certified dog trainers with decades of experiences."

How training is structured

Every client starts with an initial consultation: a 60-minute appointment, in person or virtual, to "review your dog's history and your goals," provide resources and recommendations, and tailor support. It is required before any training package and is published at $179, or $169 with shelter/rescue pricing.

After the consult, clients choose a path. Team Training means "a DGDC trainer teaches you how to train your dog" — very hands-on, and the site names it the best option "for fearful dogs, many reactive dogs, and newly adopted dogs in need of feeling safe and trusting with their #1 people." It is sold in blocks of six, eight or ten fifty-minute sessions, with the ten-session pack aimed at "bigger challenges like reactivity, guarding, over-arousal, jumping, or fear." Day Training — "Train for You" — means "we do most of the training for you," pitched at busy owners with big goals.

Puppies

Two puppy packages are offered: the Darn Good Puppy Package for puppies under 16 weeks old, and Raise a Darn Good Teen Puppy for four- to twelve-month-olds, covering what the site calls "the wild teenage phase." A separate Behavior Help section addresses "dogs with more challenging issues." The site also notes an appearance on NBC5 Chicago Today.
