About Dog Day Afternoon

Walking, play and training from one provider

Dog Day Afternoon describes itself as "Chicago's friendliest dog walking, dog training, dog daycare & dog play provider," and positions itself as "your pet's second-best friend" for owners who travel or simply dislike leaving a dog at home all day. The site says its "comprehensive pet care services are provided by an experienced, professional dog trainer."

Services

Training is delivered at home: "We offer at-home instruction in basic obedience, off-leash training and behavior modification. We teach you how to be a strong, fair and loving dog leader." Park Play is described as one of the most popular services and "fills up fast" — "personally led by founder Greg Finlayson," giving dogs the run of the day. Dog walking, dog daycare with dog play and a pet taxi for pick up and drop off complete the list.

How they describe the work

The stated purpose behind the care services is physical and mental: "We help dog owners look after their dogs' physical and mental health by providing regular exercise, stimulation and socialization," in "a fun and loving environment where your dog gets to socialize and play in a supervised space." On range, the site says "our staff is trained to care for dogs of all ages in all stages from puppy to senior" and that services are tailored because "each dog is unique."

Who it suits

This is a fit for owners who want the same provider covering the working day and the training plan — off-leash work and behavior modification taught in the home, with walks, park play and transport around it.
