About 4 Paws Obedience Training

Private lessons and group classes in Downers Grove

4 Paws Obedience Training runs private in-home lessons alongside group classes, under the tagline “Using Positive Techniques to Help Shape Your Dogs Skills.” The framing on the home page is relationship-first: “We believe that bond can be straightened by teaching good manners, preventing problem behaviors, and working to address unwanted behaviors.”

Classes offered

The published list is short and specific: Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Good Manners, Continuing Education, K9 Game Events and the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. The site describes the advanced class and the K9 Games Event as “special classes offered during the summer to have fun and build on skills already learned.” Private in-home lessons are pitched at owners who want to “learn basic cues or curtail unwanted behaviors” without leaving the house.

Method

The stated method is positive reinforcement only: “We use only positive methods to increase the dog’s ability to learn cues quickly, increase confidence, and help build a happy, healthy relationship between family members and their four legged friends.” Its navigation carries a “Meet Meghan” page, and the published client testimonial thanks a trainer called Meghan for work with an untrained adopted husky. The site also runs a photo gallery, a blog and a mailing list; ask about prices and class schedules.
