What they publish

Four formats are named with the criteria for each. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Sessions are available for dogs under 8 months. Four or five private sessions are available for dogs over 6 months. A Hybrid Training Camp mixes sessions with camp, also for dogs over 6 months. Adventure Training Camps place the dog in a trainer's home for 2 weeks, 2.5 weeks or 3 weeks. Across those formats they list obedience, behavior management for anxiety, reactivity or aggression, therapy dog development, service dog development, an introduction to scent work, and an introduction to dog sports or agility.

How the training runs

They describe themselves as balanced trainers and make a specific claim about staffing: "We are not 'cookie-cutter assembly line' trainers, our trainers are as unique as your dogs", with "the flexibility to match your dog with the trainer and training style to best suit your needs". The board-and-train equivalent is notable for where it happens – the dog stays in a trainer's home rather than a kennel run.

Who it suits

Owners who want the trainer matched to the dog rather than assigned, puppy owners wanting an AKC S.T.A.R. start, and anyone looking to move from pet obedience into therapy, service, scent or sport work. Booking is online; ask about prices.
