About Coexist Dog Training & Services

Board and train, private lessons, boarding and walking

Coexist Dog Training & Services states its mission as teaching "owners and dogs to not only coexist, but to thrive and experience life with the freedom that comes with a well-trained dog." The site says the business was "founded by Rachiim ‘Rocky’ Johnson" and describes its approach as balance: "the key to a harmonious relationship between dogs and their owners lies in balance," with "results-based techniques" and "customized dog training services for all breeds and sizes."

Programs

The services page lists two board and train programs. The 3-Week Basic Obedience program is described as "perfect for owners looking to train their dogs who have poor manners or simply need to learn basic obedience skills… ideal for dogs with no behavioral issues," covering sit, down, recall, go to bed (climb), stay, loose-leash walking and crate manners. The 5-Week Advanced Obedience / Behavior Modification program is "best for owners looking to take their training to the next level with some advanced off-leash obedience or for owners with dogs who have mild-to-severe behavioral problems," adding off-leash training, socialization outside the home and "behavior modification protocols for issues, like aggression, separation anxiety, and reactivity." Private one-on-one lessons cover the same basic obedience list with the owner involved in the work.

Background and other services

The about page says Rocky "got his start in training when he took private lessons for his own dog, Big, in 2016," completed his training at the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers, and that "in 2021, Rocky accepted an honorable position as Head Instructor" there. The accomplishments the page lists are Tom Rose School graduate, Tom Rose School head instructor, AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and service dogs placed through non-profit organizations. Beyond training, the site offers vacation boarding for dogs that have finished a program – "your dog will stay in our house with us" – and a structured dog walking service described as an hour-long walk with pick-up and drop-off on request. A free consultation is offered.
