About Dog Class Pro Dog Training

Group classes run at the student's own pace

Dog Class, Inc. is run by Joe Blankenship, who introduces himself on the site as a Certified Associate Dog Trainer. The group obedience class is taught in levels, and the page is specific that "you and your dog will move through at your pace not as a group" – six levels over six months. An agility class is offered for fun or for competition, with dogs running the course in five-minute intervals, scheduled Sundays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A therapy class prepares dogs for visits to nursing homes or schools and includes a month at Level 6 plus one private lesson in a retail store; Level 6 meets Mondays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 12:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm.

Board and train

The site also offers in-kennel training, described as the dog staying with Joe for three weeks, and the page attaches a "Lifetime Guarantee" to it. Private lessons and a Christmas puppy training page are listed in the navigation as well.

Background and areas of training

The About section says he completed his training in 2006 and became an Approved Humane Investigator through Illinois Humane in 2014. It says his interest in dogs started in high school where he worked as a kennel technician, that he later became a veterinary assistant, and that he attended the Tom Rose School. The page lists what he is "Certified to Train in": basic to advanced obedience, behavior modification, agility, service dog, therapy dog, scent detection, tracking, and private and group instruction.

Prices, as published

Unusually for a trainer site, prices are published on the home page: group obedience is listed at $340.00 for the complete six months, agility at $280.00 for six months, the therapy class at $220 for one month, and in-kennel training at $2300 for three weeks. Gift certificates are sold in any amount by phone or in person. Confirm current figures before booking.
