About Synergy Animal Behavior ®

Synergy Animal Behavior is a behavior practice rather than an obedience school, working in Memphis with four distinct audiences: pet owners, veterinary teams, other pet professionals, and animal welfare organizations.

The approach

Stated plainly and repeatedly: "Our process is rooted in humane, proven, positive reinforcement. We work with reward-based pet training methods to strengthen the human-animal bond and improve behavior without any fear-based tactics." Cases start with assessment rather than a protocol – "we … work hard with every individual to understand all the relevant factors, including animal history and unique predisposition, before customizing a tried and true course of action".

Who they work with beyond owners

The veterinary track offers practices somewhere to refer clients asking about behavior problems, framed around staff safety and patient comfort together. The pet professional track is collaborative – "Do you just wish you had people to discuss cases with? Would you like help with a case without completely referring it away?" The animal welfare track covers shelter staff safety, keeping animals mentally healthy in care, and addressing problem behaviors inside a facility. Remote consultations are offered alongside in-person work.

Check availability before you call

The site carries a notice that matters more than anything else here: "Beginning in January of 2026, we are relocating to Middle Tennessee! We are not currently accepting new clients." Testimonials published on the site describe shelter and cruelty-case behavior work over many years, but if you are looking for a trainer now, confirm availability before planning around it.
