About Always Faithful Dog & Puppy training Memphis TN

Always Faithful Dog Training of Memphis is the local arm of a national franchise "Founded by a United States Marine!", teaching what it calls Leadership Dog Training through private in-home lessons.

The method, stated as a rule

The headline is a list of exclusions: "No Treats, No Clickers, No Shock Collars, No Gimmicks." Their argument is instinct-based – "Dogs are pack animals. As part of your pack, you want your dog to follow you. Our leadership-based techniques will enable you to be the pack leader" – and they read the common complaints as symptoms of the same thing: "Leash pulling, jumping, barking, digging, and generally not listening are signs that your dog wants to lead you." They also argue against food rewards specifically, on the grounds that treats create "a transactional relationship – a 'what's in it for me' attitude". Whether that framing convinces you is a judgement call, but it is unambiguous, which makes it easy to compare against the reward-based trainers elsewhere in this metro.
