Tennessee Valley K9
Overview
About Tennessee Valley K9
Tennessee Valley K9 is a board-and-train operation at "360 Coldwater Creek Rd Taft, TN 38488", run by a trainer the site calls Lee. The stated approach is explicit: he "started Tennessee Valley K9 with the purpose of providing a balanced approach to dog training and fulfilling his client's goals and objectives for their dog."
Four programs, all priced
This is one of the few trainers in the metro that publishes its full price list. The two-week Mannered K9 is the puppy course, "designed to introduce your puppy to the basics of engagement and expectations", for ages twelve weeks to six months. Model K9 is the two-week adult equivalent. The three-week Mighty K9 "reiterates the basics and introduces/implements your K9's off leash capabilities". The four-week Master K9 is the full program – "Your K9 will have the knowledge and skill set to be well mannered in all aspects." The two longer programs include field trips and require an e-collar purchase, which the site prices separately.
Beyond pet obedience
The fifth option is open-ended: "Our Motivated K9 program is fully customizable. Do you have a specific task(s) you would like your K9 to perform? I am qualified and experienced in aggression, scent work, tracking, protection, assistance, and many more." Aggression is on the list here, unlike at several other trainers in this metro – it is quoted as the trainer's own claim of experience, and it starts with a paid evaluation.
How it works, and who it is for
The intake is published as four steps, beginning with a free consultation at a meet and greet and ending with a one-to-two-hour handover lesson for the owner. Capacity is deliberately small: "We only take a limited number of dogs so that every dog can receive the in-depth training and care they deserve." The business positions itself on price and second chances, saying it is "more affordable" and that it strives "to encourage owners to give their dog(s) a chance". Credentials are the business's own claim – it says the trainer "attended Highland K9 School for Dog Training and National K9 Training School" – not a registry verification.
