About Canine Communication Dog Training LLC

Balanced training built around the owner as much as the dog

Canine Communication Dog Training describes itself as "balanced dog training in Milwaukee designed for real life AND real, lasting behavior change." The business argues that most programs fall short because they "either overcomplicate the training process or overlook the owner entirely," and it answers that by treating coaching the handler as equal in weight to training the dog: "Coaching you is every bit as important as training your dog, so you can actually create lasting change."

Programs

Three formats are offered. 1-on-1 Private Lessons are personalized in-home coaching, worked step by step in the dog's own environment. Hybrid Training runs four in-home lessons followed by a mini board and train. Board and Train keeps the dog for "a fully immersive week of training," with a go-home lesson on Saturday, practice over the weekend and a return the following week; the site notes most board-and-train programs run four weeks in length.

Method in their own words

"We are balanced trainers. That means we teach your dog what to do, what not to do, and how to succeed in the real world." The site describes using rewards and consequences to build habits "rooted in clarity and consistency, in and out of the home," and frames the goal as a reliable shared language between dog and handler. Reactivity, aggression and separation anxiety are named among the problems worked.

Background

The trainer's story on the site is explicit that he taught humans before dogs: "Before I trained dogs, I taught humans (I was a teacher)." His own dog Argo, "a strong-willed adoptee," is credited with shaping the method. The site is also candid about limits, stating that because success depends on owner consistency and follow-through, no 100% guarantee is offered.
