About Gentle Touch K-9 Training, LLC

Gentle Touch K-9 Training, LLC is a one-trainer business at 777 Talford Rd NW in Willis, which the site itself locates as "Willis, VA 24380 – Floyd County Va". The homepage describes the owner as a "K-9 Certified Trainer offering training to fit your needs."

What they train

Two courses are published, both priced identically at "$70 for a 7 week course 1 hour per week". Puppy Kindergarten takes puppies "9 weeks to 18 weeks of age" and is framed around the developmental window: "This is the most critical time in your puppy's life. Your puppy needs to learn to play appropriately with other dogs." It covers "housetraining, greeting people politely, refrain from nipping, accept handling and restraint, come when called, loose leash walking, settle, attention, name recognition, sit, down, leave it, wait, drop it" and starts the stay command. Basic Obedience Training is for dogs "18 weeks and older" and opens with "Your dog is never too old to learn basic obedience", targeting "behavior problems such as pulling on a leash, jumping on people, ignoring you and not coming when called", then adding heel work and the sit and down stay. Beyond the courses the services page lists Private Classes, Boarding & Training, and Pet Sitting, each at "Call for Pricing". A certificate is awarded "upon successfully completing a training class".

How they work

The method statement is one line, and specific: "I specialize in clicker training".

Who runs it

The trainer is named on the homepage as Sussanna Moore. Her background is short but concrete: "I had my first experience in teaching dog obedience while apprenticing with JoAnn Michaels at Christiansburg Park & Recreation and later started my own business", plus "12 years experience in working in a veterinarian's office". She writes that "My passion for working with and understanding dogs grew from working at The Animal Care Center of Floyd for 12 years." The credential claimed on the services page is "Penn Foster Certified Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor" – the business's own claim, not checked against a registry here.
