About Bleu Starr K9

Bleu Starr K9 is at 533 Godfrey Creek Rd, Hampstead NC 28443, and publishes exactly two things: "Private Training Lessons and Board&Trains".

The stated mission

"At Bleu Starr K9, our mission is to provide a happy, healthy, comfortable and safe environment for your dog during their time with us." The business frames itself around the reality that owners travel and work – "When work, vacation, or unforeseen circumstances occur, and you cannot be home, we look forward to providing for your dog's needs while maintaining the education of well mannered pups."

Method

"During training we use positive reinforcement to teach dogs obedience through love and respect." The site adds its own rationale: "We believe dogs thrive on recognizing and understanding boundaries which are established through consistent reinforcement", and says the process "provides the most success for basic obedience allowing for improved socialization".

Who runs it

Graham Marshall Ward is the owner. The site says he is a North Carolina native, born and raised in Raleigh, has lived in the Wilmington area for several years, loved dogs from a young age and trained the family dogs as a hobby before deciding "to follow his true passion and become a certified canine instructor". It states he has held an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator certification for the last four years – that is his credential rather than a class the business sells. Sarah Ward manages boarding operations; the site says she moved to North Carolina from Maryland in 2014 to finish a psychology degree.

Hours

Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 1pm and 5pm to 7pm, with Sunday hours for boarding only.
