About Golden Compass Canine Training

Golden Compass Canine Training publishes "professional dog training in Wilmington, NC" and organizes everything it sells into a named ladder of programs, each with a published price.

The program ladder

Puppy Pioneers ($500) is for puppies from 10 weeks to 6 months and covers socialization, potty training, crate comfort and early obedience. The Explorer Program (starts at $2,500) is structured obedience for adolescent and adult dogs and includes on- and off-leash obedience, advanced recall, impulse control, distraction-proofing in real-world environments and owner coaching. The Expedition Program (starts at $3,850) adds full off-leash reliability. The Voyager is a 21-day board and train "designed to resolve behavior issues, build e-collar reliability, and create structure through daily hands-on training". Pathfinder Day Training ($250) is a drop-off option with multiple sessions through the day and a 30-minute lesson at pickup. A $950 package exists for "older pups or owners preferring on-leash training without e-collars".

What they work on

Their own summary of the range is "basic and advanced obedience training programs, behavior modification, competitive agility, puppy training, leash reactivity, socialization". The framing is balanced, with e-collar work named openly in the programs that use it and an explicitly e-collar-free option for owners who want one.
