About Woofs & Wags

Woofs & Wags works from 26 Tiffany Place in the Columbia Street Waterfront District, founded by brothers Cesar and Christian Vallejo, and has been operating since 2013. It is fully insured and bonded.

The training side

Cesar Vallejo, the lead trainer and an owner, is certified by the Animal Behavior College (ABCDT). The site's own framing is that he brings that expertise to every interaction with a dog, whether it is a group walk or a private training session – which is the honest description of how a walking-and-training business actually works. Private training sessions are offered alongside the care services, and solo walks are described as suited to dogs with special needs and reactive dogs.

Who runs it

Both owners publish their background. Cesar was raised in Queens, has lived in Brooklyn for a decade and came to this after years managing restaurants in New York City; he is often out in the neighborhood with his Xoloitzcuintli, Tonali. Christian brings a veterinary technician background, describing it as a foundation in animal health, behavior and attentive care; he is TNR certified, owns multiple rescue cats and volunteers with animal rescues. The site also describes learning pack management from a mentor – how to read body language and confidently walk and manage a pack in a busy city.

Where they work

The published neighborhoods are Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, the Columbia Street Waterfront District, Red Hook, Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Gowanus, DUMBO and Park Slope, plus Long Island City in Queens.

The rest of the services

Dog walks, dog boarding and cat care. The entry point is a free meet and greet.

What they can help with

Early socialization, house-training and first manners for young dogs.
