What Scholars with Collars offers

Scholars with Collars LLC is an in-home training and behavior service. Its own summary of the work is direct: "Whether you and your dog are struggling with chaotic walks, overzealous greetings, fear of strangers, or getting a puppy started off on the right paw, I am here for you." The stated focus is "creating effective, lasting behavior change using science-supported, positive methods to teach both dogs and their guardians new skills".

The three programs

Puppy Training covers the classic first-year problems – nipping, socialization and house-training accidents – and the site also works with people still deciding whether to add a puppy at all. Dog Training is for adult dogs pulling on leash, jumping on guests, ignoring recall, counter surfing or barking for attention, and the site notes it can be customized for intermediate or advanced levels as well. The third program, Relief for Problem Behaviors, is written for owners "sharing your life with a dog who barks and lunges on leash, guards his food bowl, panics when left alone, or fears visitors", and the approach described is "a realistic plan for change that emphasizes shifting your dog's emotional responses to various situations". Work begins with an initial consultation.
