About Jf Service Dog Training

About J.F. Service Dog Training

The site is written in the first person by its trainer, who names herself: "All service dogs are

trained by me, Jill Forster." It is emphatic about who does the work – "I do not, nor have I ever,

used volunteers in my training of service dogs" – and about capacity: "I only take one dog at a

time, giving your dog my complete focus."

How the program runs

The page describes "one dog, one owner at a time, allowing me to give all my attention to you and

your dog," and states "I train these dogs in approximately two to three days, which includes field

work and tasks." It adds "I designed this program and am capable of training the dogs in this

timeframe with the client, one-on-one."

What is trained

The stated specialty is "disabilities including anxiety, PTSD, and psychiatric/mobility service

dogs," and the page argues "It is important that your trainer understands your disability to aid in

the training of your service dog." The goal is set out as "to customize a dog for each individual,

capable of handling distractions and completing tasks that will help you with your disability."

Note one explicit limit: puppies are not accepted for service work – "I do not train puppies for

service dogs; for obedience, yes. As far as service dogs, call me when your dog is nearer a year old

or older."

Dogs and setting

The page says "I often work with rescued dogs and shelter dogs, which tend to be very loyal and

train well," and names the beagle as a favorite breed for the work. The property is described as "a

beautiful 100-acre Wildlife Sanctuary, a wonderful place for those in need of quiet, restful,

healthy solitude."
