About The Educated Hound

Who they are

The Educated Hound is a Cartersville board-and-train operation that works out of a family home and a five-and-a-half acre farm. The site's pitch is off-leash reliability: it says it can teach a dog to listen even off leash, and lists the everyday outcomes it aims at — coming when called, walking on a loose leash, not bolting through doors, not jumping on guests.

Programs

Two programs are published. The main one is a home-and-farm based board and train, where the dog lives on the property and learns house manners indoors and on-and-off-leash work around farm distractions, then goes on outings to dog-friendly stores or parks before an owner handover lesson. The second is a specialty Trained Retrieve program, taken case by case, which the site says is based solely on clicker and marker work and needs a food-driven, non-aggressive dog. The site states directly that it does not train service dogs.

Scale

Intake is deliberately small: the site says it takes only a few students at a time so each dog gets individual attention, and asks owners to call ahead to reserve a place. A free phone consultation is offered.
