About AK9A Alan’s K9 Academy

Who they are

Alan's K9 Academy is a North Metro Atlanta training business whose published service area reaches into this metro — the site names Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Paulding, Floyd and Polk counties. Evaluations are run personally by Alan Carr, who is named on the site as the person who meets the owner, assesses the dog and recommends a program.

What you can book

Five programs are published. In-home training is one-to-one coaching for dog and owner in the home and in real-world settings. Group classes give structured obedience practice around other dogs and people. Puppy training covers habits, communication, confidence, social skills and foundation obedience. Behavior modification is aimed at aggression, anxiety, reactivity, destructive behavior and impulse-control problems. A therapy and service dog track builds obedience, task skills and public manners to the client's goals.

Claims they make

The site lists the problems it takes on — separation anxiety, fear aggression, leash pulling, destructive behavior, reactivity, excessive barking, resource guarding and jumping. It says veterinarians across North Metro Atlanta refer clients to the academy, offers what it calls a Life-of-Dog Support guarantee for the commands and issues in a completed program, and says it was named the number one statewide Best of Georgia winner for pet training in 2024 and 2025. Financing is offered.
